New Brand Wrestling Results For Saturday, February 26

http://jamestuchscherer.blogspot.com/

Tonight New Brand Wrestling is back at the Ellice Theater and it is a tournament to crown a new New Brand Wrestling Heavyweight Champion. But that's not all that's back. I, the mysterious Master Blogger is back at it covering the New Brand results. But you readers, you already know that. Now usually, the shows start at 7:00 p.m. sharp, but tonight for some reason they started at 7:15 p.m. go figure. But hey I got a few high-fives from Billy Blaze, Rocky Augustino, and ''The Rebel'' Bobby Collins (yes fellow readers, even when they are a heel, they love me LOL). Now I'm going to cut all this funny stuff and get to the card.

Opening promo: Ricky Rivers comes out saying that he is back for revenge and gold. Rivers then gets interrupted by Mr. Milton Jones (manager for the Soul Society) who tells Rivers that his client Ichigo Yagami (formerly Ryuzaki Light and Yami Light) is going to defeat Rivers and become the new NBW Heavyweight Champion so he should forfeit his match. Many fans, even yours truly chanted Kick his @$$.

Opening Match: Ricky Rivers vs Ichigo Yagami - Earlier in the match, Rivers cross arm bared the leader of the Soul Society but  Ichigo reversed it. Ricky reversed it again but this time, Ichigo put him in a headlock, followed by a shoulderblock. A hiptoss was followed by Rivers which led to Yagami chopping Rivers repeatedly 3 times. Repeated back elbows by Ichigo was followed by Ricky Rivers clotheslining Yagami but Ichigo put Ricky in a surfboard. Yagami stiff-kicks Ricky which is followed up by 2 shoulders, a backflip and a flying elbow and I loved it!!!. Just as it looked like Rivers was going to win, Milton Jones distracted Rivers and Yagami delivered a stiff elbow for the W. After the match Ricky Rivers was forced to join the Soul Society which I did not get.

Tournament Match #1: Vinnie Valliant vs. ''The Great'' Pepito - In the first round of the heavyweight title tournament Vinnie Valliant took on one half of the N.B.W. tag team champions, Pepito. Both men shook hands before the match as both men are considered fan favorites. Earlier in the bout, Valliant delivered a perfectly executed neckbreaker and got only a 2 count. Vinnie delivered an elbow and stiff kicked Pepito. Vinnie then went for his 450 splash but Pepito moved out of the way. Pepito delivered a knee to the back and put Valliant in a cross armbar but Vinnie recovered and put Pepito in a jackknife (not the powerbomb) for a 2 count. Vinnie slammed Pepito and delivered his 450 splash to advance to round 2 of the tournament.

Match #3: ''Dirty'' Dick Walker vs. ''Bad Boy'' Buddy Wiser - This match was a contest between formerly one half of the most dangerous tag team in independent wrestling: The Reservoir Dogs and the 18 year veteran.  Earlier in the match, Dick said he needed to take a time out to think which led to the referee counting. A collar-elbow tie-up led to Wiser shoving his opponent to the canvas. Dirty Dick put Bad Boy Buddy in a headlock and tried to take him down with a shoulderblock but to no avail. Walker delivered repeated elbows to Buddy's head and did a showboat dance for good measure. Buddy recovered and put Dirty Dick in a sunset flip but it was only a 2 count. Back in the ring, Walker choked Wiser with his boot and dropkicked Buddy into the turnbuckle which would be followed by repeated elbows and a chokehold. But Wiser recovered and delivered a vicious clothesline but Dirty Dick delivered one of his own for the 1-2-3.

Intermission: several wrestlers came out to sign autographs, I got a high five from Ichigo Yagami and Milton Jones before I went to the canteen to get a slice of pizza and a Coke.

Tournament Match #2: Zamil vs. Vinny Valliant - Vinnie already beat Pepito and was now attempting to move on to the next round. Zamil slapped Vinnie but Vinnie delivered a slap of his own and put the Z-Man in in armbar but then the hypnotist put Vinnie in a headlock and delivered a monkey flip for good measure, but Valliant put Zamil in a modified crossface followed by a cradle but only got a 2 count. Zamil delivered a leg through move and put pressure on Vinnie's leg but Vinnie recovered with an insiguri kick to the Z-Man's head but Zamil recovered and delivered a vicious chop. Vinny tried many things on Zamil: a schoolboy, a crusifix, even a small package but to no avail could get a 3 count. Zamil tried a splash from the second rope but was met with a boot. In the end, Zamil clocked Valliant with his cell phone for the win.

Impromptu Match: Billy Blaze vs Ichigo Yagami - Prior to this tournament match, The Soul Society leader came out and cut a promo saying ''This is my show and this is my title, so get me anyone from the back.'' Out came Billy Blaze. Earlier in the match Yagami delivered an elbow to Blaze and tried repeated pins but got 2 counts each time. Ichigo put Billy in a sleeper but Blaze recovered and delivered an incredible back suplex. Yagami repeatedly stomped Blaze and said ''Stay Down!!!''. The Soul Society leader delivered 3 shoulders, a backflip followed by an elbow, but Billy recovered and trapped Ichigo Yagami in the Blaze Of Glory but only got a 2 count. Yagami put Billy in a tarantula but Billy recovered and put The Soul Society leader in a move that I am going to call The Exclamation Point to move on to the finals.

Mid-Canada Title Match - Bobby Collins vs Daemon Marxx - At the last show, The Rebel added New Brand gold to his resume by winning a battle royal. Tonight he put his title on the line against the larger Daemon Marxx. Earlier in the match, Marxx delivered a perfectly executed suplex to the Rebel but Collins reovered and with repeated kicks I said to myself ''Now that's the Bobby Collins I remember watching!!''. Marxx would recover and give Bobby a vicious shoulderbreaker to the ropes but only got a 2 count. The Rebel then bit the forehead of the challenger and choked him for good measure. Marxx gave the champ a knee to the head and with a superkick sent Daemon crashing like a tree struck by lightning. Collins then put Marxx in his armbar tapout for the W. It took several people to pull the champ off of the challenger including the canteen guy.

Main Event Tournament Final: Zamil vs. Billy Blaze - Zamil came to the ring with a crutch but Blaze pulled a Stop sign from under the ropes. This match was a no disqualification match. Earlier in the match, Zamil delivered a legdrop to Blaze on the ropes and tried to whack Billy with the Stop sign but Blaze ducked and took it to the Hypnotist. The Z-Man recocered and delivered a headbutt to the breadbasket. Billy recovers and brings the Stop sign into the ring and crutch and whacks Zamil saying if I recall correctly ''That's for trying to mess with my testicles'' LOL. Zamil recovered eventually and whacked Billy back but Billy delivered a suplex and then went up to the top rope for an elbow but the Z-Man moved out of the way. Zamil went up for a moonsault and Blaze moved out of the way. Billy then delivered a jumping kick to the Z-Man's head but when he went for a second, he hit the referee instead. Zamil tried to whack Blaze with a guitar but Blaze ducked, whacked the Z-Man with the guitar for the W, and Billy Blaze was your New Brand Wrestling heavyweight champion.

Next show will be March 26th but I will be blogging the CWE show on March 4th. Until then, 2 things never forget, Keep Reading and always always, Be Champions!!!

Columnist's Corner With Louis Hendrickson

http://jamestuchscherer.blogspot.com/

Master Blogger:  Welcome to the very first edition of the Columnist's Corner and I am your host with the most, The Master Blogger. My very first guest, is a man who needs no introduction, a man who is greater than great. Some of you refer to this man as The Weasel but I refer to him as the Manager Of Champions, he is the Vice President of New Brand Wrestling, Louis Hendrickson. Welcome to the Columnist's Corner, Manager of Champions.

Louis Hendrickson: No problem.

Master Blogger: My first question is can you tell some of the readers just how you broke into the business.

Louis Hendrickson: I broke in back in 1999 at Chalmer's as the clean-up crew and tear down crew security thanks to Caveman Broda the legend, and he set up a meeting with Mr. R.C.W.

Master Blogger: How would you compare New Brand Wrestling to other promotions?

Louis Hendrickson:  New Brand Wrestling is okay with guys like Diamond and Bobby Collins,  Mike Mission,  Buddy Wiser and other guys.  Veterans work the shows. The difference is CWE is way more serious and the set up is very good and professional looking not like N.B.W.  I'm waiting for R.C.W. to make their return to the business. They will show New Brand Wrestling how to do it and completely embarrass them without even trying. The new R.C.W. will be #1 in no time at all. The strobe lights and set up will be awesome and the crew will too.  I have a surprise for everyone very soon. PCW is okay they have some awesome guys too like The Outlaw Adam Knight. WFX is Jeff Dyck's baby and Mike Davidson's.

Master Blogger:  I was at the last show, and I along with many fans could not believe the then-GM Cory Diamond was stripped of his General Manager duties. Talk about how he was removed as GM.

Louis Hendrickson: It was a conflict of intrest.  He was wrestling and held back General Manager duties. We worked that angle together. He is better as a wrestler.

Master Blogger: On March 5th, River City Wrestling is going to make its big comeback at the Salvation Army Centre on Logan Avenue. What are your thoughts of RCW re-opening its doors?

Louis Hendrickson: They are going to kick some butt and become #1 in no time. River City Wrestling really is the heart and soul of local wrestling.  We used to have so much fun with our shows and Wayne Stanton is the greatest promoter in town and I'm not saying this to kiss his butt but it is true. The first show on March 5th is giving back to the neighborhood. Then on March 19th they will embarass New Brand Wrestling and Canadian Classic Wrestling. Next question.

Master Blogger: When people think of great managers in wrestling, they think of Bobby Collins, they think of Dave Levinsky, they think of Lynn Adams, Shalamar Santana, The Baroness and many others, but most of all they think of you because you provided that entertainment that brought the fans to you so my question is when someone comes up to you and says you are the greatest manager of all time, what does that mean to you looking back on your career?

Louis Hendrickson:  I feel very honored and respected to be in the same calibre as the others.  I have a suprise very soon so stay tuned. Lynn Adams is a very good friend and I am asking to get her back but with R.C.W.

Master Blogger:  I will definitly stay tuned. Now for my next question, if I could take a look at the list of people you have managed in your time and I am not going to name all of them but just a few from the likes of Madman Muir who by the way has signed with R.C.W., Silverstreak 2000, Plumber Lou Dooley who would later become Carver Gleason, Ox Anderson who became DOOM in SPW, Paul Arcidi, Dirty Doug Irwin and Jay Lanza just to name a few so my question is who were you the proudest to say I managed this person out of all the guys you managed in your time in RCW, who was the guy or guys you can look back and say I did the best stuff with him we had some great times together?

Louis Hendrickson: All of them but truthfully, Ox and Madman Muir were the greatest times of all and Carver Gleason. I would manage the crappiest guys and make them shine.  Next question.

Master Blogger: Any final comments to all the great wrestling fans?

Louis Hendrickson: Stay tuned for a special serious announcement from me soon. Stay tuned to the old N.B.W. hotline soon. Number is 786-5000 ext. #1667.  I love the wrestling fans and go out and support R.C.W. at all their shows.  I will be there March 5th in the audience.

Master Blogger: Louis, it has been a pleasure talking to you for blogspot.com. Thank you for your time.

Louis Hendrickson: Anytime.

That is it for this edition of the Columnist's Corner . In my next edition, I will be talking to River City Wrestling star and current N.B.W. tag team champion, The Great Pepito.

History Of Steeltown Pro Wrestling & My Opinions Of The Roster

http://jamestuchscherer.blogspot.com/

I thought that I, The mysterious Master Blogger would give my opinions of SPW which stands for Steeltown Pro Wrestling.  Created in November of 2007, Steeltown promoted its first live event in Selkirk, MB. Since that time SPW, has helped raise funds (and awareness!!) for school groups, sports teams, community initiatives as well as charities.

SPW has released over more than 55 DVDs that have been sold in Canada, the US, Austrailia and even the UK.  Steeltown produces a weekly television series called SPW Showdown available to a viewing audience on GoFightLive.tv, the leading distributor of Wrestling, Boxing and other events.

Many international wrestling stars have appeared for Steeltown Pro Wrestling including 2-time ROH World Champion Austin Aries, Japanese and Mexican wrestling star Mentallo, award winning author Vance Nevada, WWE legend Rick “the Model” Martel, former ROH World Tag Team Champion Claudio Castagnoli, former ECW & NWA-TNA World Champion Raven and WWE Legend Bushwhacker Luke.

Now I will give my take on each member of the roster:

Matt Fairlane - a former SPW Champion and a 2 time Red River Rumble winner. He will be SPW champion again in the future.

"Really Crazy" Rob Stardom - A former TRCW Heavyweight Champion and winner of the Red River Rumble in 09, as leader of the Family Of Darkness,  I love the stuff he does in the ring and I always will respect him.

Chi Chi Cruz - got his start with Tony Condello, former SPW Champion, I got the uttmost respect for the Canadian Wrestling Legend.

Marius - A member of the Family Of Darkness with Rob Stardom, is a 2X SPW Heavyweight Champion, I love that Peyote Piledriver.

La Sombra - The smallest wrestler in SPW, is a 2X Provincial Champion, I predict he will wear gold again soon.

Iron Ike Idol - Is one of the top heels in SPW and throughout MB. But hey, I respect him.

"Wild Child" Jerin Rose - a former TRCW champion as well as a former SPW tag team champion with his partner Alex Shaver. I predict good things for him in SPW.

Alex Shaver - a graduate of the SPW Training Academy, and a former SPW Tag Team Champion with partner Jerin Rose. I would like to see him make a run for the Provincial Title.

"Beautiful" Bobby Jay - Well, what can I say about Bobby Jay but this guy is a legend in the ring. I will always be a fan of his no matter what.

Shadow Xtreme - Also a graduate of the SPW Training Academy, I predict good things for this young man.

"Big" Cliff Corleone - Got his start with River City Wrestling and is one half of the SPW tag team champions with partner Reggie Gallagher.

Reggie Gallagher - Also got his start with River City and is one half of the SPW tag team champions with Big Cliff and together they are called Bad To The Bone.

Billy Blaze - Has wrestled all over Manitoba and is one of the best Aboriginal Wrestlers of all time. I predict this guy will have SPW gold in the future.

Syko - A member of the Family Of Darkness. I predict good things for him.

Gibby Guerrero - I predict a bright future for this star from Gimli.

Mr. Nasty - Also a graduate of the SPW Training Academy, I predict great things for him.

Jay Lanza - A former SPW Provincial Champion and also a graduate of the Training Academy, I would like to see him make a run for the Provincial Title again.

Tommy Lee Curtis - "Mr TLC" is the current SPW Provincial Champion. TLC if you are reading this, congrats and keep up the good work.

"Misfit" Mike Mission - Also a graduate of the Training Academy, I would like to see him add SPW gold in the future.

Spanky - Also got started with River City Wrestling, I can see good things for him in the future.

Nacho Slurpee - What can I say, absolutly amazing.

Sydney Manson - I would like to see him either make a run for the SPW Provincial Title or get a tag team partner and go for the tag team titles.

 Interesting Facts:

CWE Results For Friday February 4th

http://jamestuchscherer.blogspot.com/

Tonight the Master Blogger is back at it with my first report for February as tonight CWE (Canadian Wrestling's Elite) presented their 2 Year Anniversary Show entitled Do or Die at Vince Leah Community Centre.  Lots of great independent wrestling action so now I, the mysterious Master Blogger will cut to the chase and go through each match.

Opening Contest - A 3-Way Match for the CWE tag team titles between Team Impact (Robby Royce and ATM), The Strip N'Dales (Bobby Fox and Matt Fairlane) and the champions ''Big'' Cliff Corleone and JJ Sanchez. TJ Bratt gets on the mic and demanded that the people in the Vince Leah Community Centre show him some respect. Sanchez and Corleone come out with of course Hump and Daisy May. Royce slapped Sanchez accross the face and I, the mysterious Master Blogger said to myself, That's the Robby Royce I remember. Royce tags in ATM and then Fairlane tags himself in on JJ, Bratt tripped up Fairlane from the outside which caused the reff to send him back to the dressing room (total and utter BS). Fox then went for a top rope legdrop onto ATM (no love lost between these 2 teams). Fairlane delivered a spinebuster to Robby Royce, as this was happening Fox was beat up on the outside by Corleone and company. Royce superplexed Fox who sandwiched everybody on the outside of the ring. As Fairlane turned around, a mysterious woman came through the crowd and kicked Fairlane in the breadbasket  allowing Team Impact to get the W. and become the new CWE tag team champions. Now I don't know who this woman was. Many suspect that was Lacey from PCW but I don't know. After the match Fairlane took out his frustrations and tried to whack Daisy May with a chair but instead whacked Hump.

Match 2: North End Street Fight - JP Kaos & Antonio Scorpio Jr. vs Boyz In Da Hood (Brian Rich and Scotty Rapper) - Scorpio and Kaos representing the Alliance Of Defiance (AOD) took on the returning Boyz in Da Hood. Rich and Rapper came through the crowd (Rich was sporting new gear). Rich used a spray can in Scorpio's eyes. Blinded Anton was an easy target for the Boyz. But Scorpio recovered and delivered a thunderous suplex to Scotty. While Kaos choked Rapper, Bratt yelled ''You guys are morons here in Winnipeg.'' Rich and Rapper then delivered a double flying clothesline to Scorpio, but the former PCW Champion recovered and dropped Rich on his head with the jumping tombstone piledriver to get the win for the AOD. Just as it looked like Scorpio was about to drop Rapper on his head, out from the back came Zack Mercury who got on the mic saying ''You stay right there Scorpio I am not done with you yet. The only way to make an impact is to prove yourself and challenges Scorpio for March at Cowboy's. Bratt then says We will discuss the contract and get back to you.

Match #3 - 123 Approved .ca Dog Collar Title match - For months Pimp Daddy Rick Matthews had been decking and dodging and cheating his way to get victories over Paul Arcidi but this time there was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. Matthews was sporting new gear but refused to wear the dog collar until later in the match. Arcidi used the chain on Matthews and delivered an awesome gorilla press slam and then repeatedly hit the Pimp Daddy with the chain on the back (ouch). Matthews recovered and used his cane to whack Arcidi. Arcidi at some point in the match used the chain to open up The Pimp Daddy on the head. Hey sorry, but the Master Blogger did say there was going to be blood and he meant it. After a hard fought battle, The Brickhouse used the Alabama Slam to pin Matthews and become the new 123Approved.ca Hardcore Champion.

Match #4 - Ladder Match where the winner got a contract to face any champion he wished, Tyler Colton vs. ''Mr TLC'' Tommy Lee Curtis vs. ''Misfit'' Mike Mission vs. Billy Blaze vs. Kevy Chevy vs. ''Beautiful'' Bobby Jay - Blaze and Chevy went after each other right away. Two former tag team partners, they used to call themselves The Creebirds. Billy Blaze grabbed the ladder earlier in the match and speared Chevy after setting the ladder up but Kevy recovered and whipped Billy into the ladder. TLC then grabbd the ladder and started to climb up only to be pushed off by Bobby Jay. Bobby went up only to get pantsed by Blaze and gave Chevy a stink face.

Jay dropkicked the Misfit and did a cartwheel for good measure. Blaze went up the ladder only to get pulled down by Tyler. Jay set up the ladder and delivered what I thought was an amazing Beauty Buster to Colton. Chevy then suplexed Jay, Billy pushes both The Misfit and Chevy off the ladder. Colton and Curtis both went up the ladder and started arguing amongst themselves which caused the contract to fall. Meanwhile The Beautiful One delivered a Tower Of Doom to the others.  Bobby set up the ladder but gets whacked by Kevy Chevy and also whacks Mike with it, Colton wins the match after the contract fell which my brother was confused.

Match 5 - Heavyweight Title Match - Mentallo vs ''Hotshot'' Danny Duggan: Before the match got started Duggan cuts a promo saying thank you to all the fans for letting us do what we always do. Both men shook hands during the match as both men have to be considered fan favorites (or so I thought). Earlier in the match both men exchanged lefts and rights, Mentallo dropkicked Danny but Duggan backflips Mentallo over the top rope and both men exchanged chops on the outside but Duggan recovered and delivered three chops of his own before slingshotting the champ into the steel ring post.  Later on, both men fought into the audience where Mentallo delivered a perfectly executed moonsault bodypress on Duggan. During this part of the match the AOD came out to watch so I figured ''Okay something's going on here''.

Back in the ring, Mentallo delivered three stiff kicks to Danny and put him in a half Boston Crab. Mentallo then delivered a suplex but Hotshot kicked out at two. The champ then delivered a brainbuster suplex to the challenger followed by a moonsault. Danny recovered and trapped Mentallo in a DDT but it was only a two count. Then the AOD interfered and attacked  Danny Duggan. Mentallo just sat back and I was like ''What are you doing? Anyway, the Alliance Of Defiance interfeed and cost Danny Duggan the CWE Heavyweight Title causing Mentallo to win which my brother said was another bullshit ending.  This was Danny's glorious moment. A chance to become the champion and it was taken away by these thugs The Alliance Of Defiance. Why did Mentallo do what he did? Nobody seemed to know. I don't seem to know. I just blog what I see.

Match #6 - Battle Royal - As these 18 men were battling each other, smacking each other, not even geared up, Moose (the announcer) decides to announce the 50-50 Draw. 24 minutes into the battle royal, AJ Sanchez eliminates everyone except for Bobby Fox. Sanchez grabs a chair and cuts a promo. At 9:58, Sanchez says I am going to wait here until Carlito arrives and starts doing some funny stuff.

Match #7 - Carlito vs AJ Sanchez - After a long, long wait of being tied up at Customs, Carlito finally arrived and cuts a promo saying that Sanchez said some things about Carlito. Carlito responded by spitting apple in AJ's face which lead to the former CWE Heavyweight Champ beating up Carlito really bad. The beating continued inside the ring where AJ said that Carlito is nothing. Carlito recovered with a dropkick to Sanchez's kisser. but AJ recovered and delivered a vicious clothesline but only got a two count. After a hard fought battle, Carlito used the Back Cracker to pin AJ Sanchez and get the one, two, three.
