CWE Calm Before The Storm Results

Tonight CWE (Canadian Wrestling's Elite) presented Calm Before The Storm at the Maples Community Centre. Now originally this event was scheduled for the Vince Leah Community Centre but because the demand for tickets was so high, they had to move the event to Maples. But enough jaw jacking, it's time to give the results so that's what the Master Blogger (you know that's me) is going to do.

Opening Contest 3 Way Match Matt Fairlane vs. AJ Sanchez vs ''Red Hot'' Ryan Wood - Before the opening bell Woody got on the mic and said that each member in the crowd were sun tanned supermen (including yours truly). All 3 men collar elbowed and both Woody and Fairlane press-slammed AJ. Fairlane put an armbar on Woody but Red Hot recovered with a moonsault but missed. Matt went up to the top but Sanchez pulled his leg and delivered a superplex of his own. AJ irishwhipped Woody into the corner turnbuckle, but Ryan put the boot up and delivered an elbow and choked him with the knee.

Woody delivered rights to both men but AJ cut him off guard with a footstomp and chopped Matt. He delivered a face rake to Red Hot's eyes and an uppercut but only got a 2. AJ suplexed Fairlane for a 2. Woody then delivered a DDT but was met with AJ's boot. Matt attempted a superplex but Woody countered with an X-Factor (or whatever the heck that move is). Matt delivered a spinebuster and tried to set up Sanchez for his pattented Fairlane Widowmaker finishing move but AJ Sanchez got  the win with a moonsault on Fairlane for the 3 count.

Match #2 - JJ Sanchez & Big Cliff vs Boyz In Da Hood - Rich countered with an armdrag on JJ before tagging in Scotty whereas JJ tagged in Big Cliff who caught Rapper in mid-air and delivered a backbreaker followed by a doubleteam and a powerslam from Sanchez for a 2. While referee Kelly Russell's back was turned, Cliff choked Rapper with the tag rope followed by an elbow & a Corleone Crunch before tagging in JJ who missed with a moonsault. This prompted Rapper to tag Rich who was on fire with JJ. The match went back and forth and forth and back but in the end JJ Sanchez and Big Cliff got the W.

Post-Match: JJ Sanchez got on the mic and said that last show some idiot in the back brought Daisy May flowers and demanded that whoever it was come out to the ring and get a beating. Sanchez then turns to Hump and asks was it you?! This led to Sanchez and Cliff turning on Hump.

Match #3 - 123approved.ca Open Rules Title - ''Beautiful'' Bobby Jay & ''Pimp Daddy'' Rick Matthews vs ''The Brickhouse'' Paul Arcidi - This match was under handicap rules. Arcidi clotheslined Bobby and went after Matthews but as Bobby went for a clothesline of his own on Arcidi he accidentally clotheslined Pimp Daddy instead. Matthews and Jay both got rammed into the turnbuckle. Matthews attacked Arcidi from behind which led to a double team. Bobby and the Pimp Daddy both pinned the champ but only got a 2. More double teaming from the 2 challengers followed by an uppercut by Pimp Daddy.

Arcidi recovered with a backdrop to Jay while Paul and Rick brawled outside, Bobby dived onto both men through the ring to the floor. Arcidi fired back with chops but both men caught him off guard. However, the Brickhouse would recover with a double spear, a backdrop, a clothesline and a double noggin knocker. As Arcidi set up The Beautiful One for the Alabama Slam, Matthews delivered a Death Valley Driver as both men had won the belt which left me scratching my head in confusement.

Match #4 - Zack Mercury & ''Hotshot'' Danny Duggan vs. Alliance Of Defiance - TJ Bratt made his way to the ring saying he fired both J.P. Kaos and Antonio Scorpio Jr. and replaced them with 2 of the biggest men in Winnipeg wrestling. Those 2 men being The German Juggernaut Moses Luke and Sabertooth.

Tooth shoved Danny to the mat twice. Tooth missed with a splash allowing Duggan to tag in Z-Merc who delivered chops and a splash to Tooth. Merc tried a monkey flip but got shoved to the canvas allowing Tooth to tag in Luke who delivered repeated punches. Z-Merc recovered with an elbow before tagging in Danny who got caught with a sideslam by Moses. Tooth went for a splash but Duggan moved out of the way and tagged in Zack who delivered a neckbreaker but Tooth managed to tag in Luke who delivered a rake to the eyes.

Moses went for a boot but was caught by Zack who fired back with a flying elbow and a knee but Moses recovered with a side slam before tagging in Sabertooth who got a back elbow from Z Merc before tagging in Duggan. Once Duggan entered the ring he delivered a bodypress to Tooth for a 2. Tooth then double suplexed by both Merc and Danny. Danny delivered a Cruel Summer Knee Drop but got distracted by Mentallo. Back in the ring Luke and Tooth delivered a High Tide (or whatever that is) for the 3 count.

Match #5 - Last Man Standing Match: Kevy Chevy vs. Billy Blaze - This was the final encounter between these 2 former tag team partners who used to call themselves the Fabulous Creebirds. Chevy delivered shoulders, Blaze would recover but run into a knee, a shoulder, and a chop. Kevy tried running but ran into Blaze's boot. Chevy then delivered a suplex from the top rope as referee Kelly Russell started counting.

Billy took Chevy over the top rope with a clothesline and rammed his head into the post. Both men then took this fight to the concession stands but Chevy recovered and whacked Billy with a chair while Kelly Russell. Back in the ring, Kevy rammed the chair into Blaze's head. Chevy went up top but Billy cut him and delivered a back suplex from the 2nd rope while referee Kelly Russell started counting. Blaze would then go for a top rope splash but Chevy put the knees up. Blaze recovered and delivered a top rope elbow. Chevy gave Blaze his own Blaze of Glory (I think), went up top but was stopped by Billy who delivered a kick to the back as well as a piledriver on the chair.

In the end, Kevy Chevy could not answer the 10 count. Calls for a celebration. What does CWE hold next for Billy Blaze?

Match #6 - CWE Tag Team Title Match - Tyler Colton & Tommy Lee Curtis vs. Team Impact - ATM countered with an armbar on Colton but Tyler recovered with a footstomp and an armdrag to Robby as well as a mini Rock Bottom (or whatever that move is) before tagging in Tommy Lee Curtis who put a liplock on Lacey. Royce tagged ATM who got a double backbreaker by the challengers. Royce and Colton fired shots with each other before tagging ATM who then doubleteamed Tyler with Royce. ATM suplexed Colton but Tyler semi-recovered.

Royce elbowed Tyler and he and ATM doubleteamed him. Robby tagged ATM who got the boot up as Tyler tried a running move but somehow managed to tag TLC. A fired up Tommy Lee Curtis delivered a DDT to ATM. TLC delivered a bodypress to Royce but Royce pulled Colton out. ATM delivered a superkick and went for their finishing move (I can't remember the name of the move) for the W.

Main Event: CWE Title Match Gangrel vs. Mentallo (with TJ Bratt) - Mentallo countered with a boot to the breadbasket as well as a hard right but Gangrel put the elbow up and rammed the champ's head to the turnbuckle and gave him a rolling elbow for a 2 count. On the outside, Mentallo rammed Gangrel's head into a chair.

Back in the ring Mentallo delivered a dropkick with the challenger turned upside down. Gangrel recovered but Mentallo choked the challenger with Bratt giving the assist. Gangrel would delivere a hard right to the side of Bratt. Mentallo delivered a jumping knee to the chest as well as a headbutt.

Gangrel countered out of the sleeper hold with a powerslam and a clothesline as well as a back bodydrop, but Mentallo recovered with a face rake. The match went back and forth but in the end Mentallo got the win with a moonsault. After the match Danny Duggan came into the ring and attacked the champ delivering a Rock Bottom. This prompted the AOD as well as Zack Mercury to empty the locker room.
