Steeltown Pro Wrestling Presents Nowhere To Run II Results

Last night, SPW (Steeltown Pro Wrestling) presented Nowhere To Run II at the Royal Canadian Legion at 1335 Main Street. But enough about the location, let's get to the review of tonight's card courtesy of the Master Blogger.

Opening Contest: 6 Man Tag - Syko, Son of Syko & Sydney Manson vs. Team 24/7 (Nacho Slurpee, Super Big Gulp & Double Gulp) - A collar elbow tie up as Syko's son slams Nacho but Slurpee recovers with a headlock but goes down with a shoulderblock. In comes Double who goes to work before tagging in Super Big who also goes to work on the arm but Syko stops him with a headlock and a kick til Super Big turns tries a cross bodyblock but Syko puts him down with a backbreaker. Super Big manages to tag in Double who gets an armdrag bye Manson and ran his legs into the ring post. Sydney gets in his face by talking trash and Super Big Gulp goes to work on the leg followed by a clothesline until Syko comes in and delivers a legdrop to Nacho followed by 2 chops and trips him which is followed by a crunch and a bodyslam as well as a legdrop. The match goes back and forth but in the end the heel team get the victory.

Match #2 - James Beaver vs. Chip ''The Flame'' Fletcher - Fletcher begins with a haymaker to the jaw. Next, after a test of strength, Chip delivers 2 more haymakers and the match gets taken to the outside. Back inside, Beaver stops Chip but The Flame comes back til Beaver stops him after the chase around the ring and starts choking followed by 2 hard rights but misses an avalanche in the corner. This prompted Fletcher to bounce back however, James (Beaver) gets the victory with his feet on the ropes.

Match #3 - Bad To The Bone (''Big'' Cliff Corleone & Reggie Gallagher) vs. ''Big Rig'' Shawn Northstar & ''Misfit'' Mike Mission - Reggie begins with an armbar til Mission reverses it but Reggie puts Mike down until the Misfit recovers with an armbar of his own and tags in Northstar who puts Gallagher in a headlock and takes him down with a shoulderblock before Gallagher tags in Big Cliff Corleone who delivers repeated shots to Big Rig followed by a double axhandle from Reggie. Mission tries to come in and help but is held back by referee Matt Burns. Corleone chokes Shawn and tags in Reggie who delivers repeated kicks followed by a hard shot before tagging in Cliff who delivers an avalanche as well as repeated shots but misses his Corleone Crunch in the corner. This prompts Shawn to tag in Mike who attemptws a bulldog but misses. Cliff tags in Reggie who chokes Mission but misses a shot. This prompted Mission to tag in Big Rig who goes to work on Big Cliff til Cliff stops him but the Misfit manages to deliver his Mission Statement DDT out of nowhere but Reggie breaks the count at 2. In the end, Big Rig & The Misfit get the win. After the match Gallagher gets on the mic saying ''You big fat piece of crap. Everytime we team together we lose match after match after match, and it's all your fault. Well I've had enough of it!! I can take you on anytime anywhere.'' At that point he delivers a superkick and goes to work on Cliff til referees break it up.

Match #4 - Mr. Nasty vs. Jethro Hawg - A collar elbow tie up and both men go nowhere. A second elbow tie up and Hawg backs Nasty to the corner. Jethro delivers a poke the eyes followed by an armbar and then a legdrop on the arm. Jethro continued to work on the arm til Mr. Nasty calls a timeout. Jethro goes back to the armbar til Nasty rakes the eyes, delivers a shoulderblock and puts him in a nerve hold. Jethro fights back til Mr. Nasty puts him down with a clothesline but only gets a 2. On the outside, that little five letter word that rhymes with witch, Jade Pheonix chokes Jethro with the ring rope. Nasty delivers a back elbow but only gets a 2. Nasty delivers shots but Hawg comes back only to hit referee Doug Valentine. This prompted Nasty to get Jethro's cowbell and wrap it around the turnbuckle til Jethro whacked Nasty with the cowbell and delivered a splash for the win.

Match #5 - ''Really Crazy'' Rob Stardom vs. Leo London with Aurora Love - Rob begins the match with a wastelock but London reverses it and puts on an armbar. Stardom would reverse it but Leo takes him down til Rob delivers a kick to the gutt. Leo recovers and gets a 2 count. Stardom takes London down with an armbar til Leo reverses it again. Next, Really Crazy took him over with a headlock while he said his famous line ''Who's your daddy???!!!. Next, Rob went after Aurora Love til Leo delivered a flying bodypress on the outside but only gets a 2. Really Crazy stops him on the ropes but Leo kicks out at 2. Leo delivers a small package out of nowhere but Stardom kicks out at 2. Rob delivers shots to the back but Leo recovers with a dropkick but only gets a 2. Leo attempts a Boomerang but again Stardom kicks out at 2. As Leo ascended the ropes, Stardom stops him again but Leo misses a frog splash but recovers with a dropkick as well as a kick to the head for a 2. Repeated shots followed by a clothesline by Rob were enough to get the win.

Intermission

Match #6: SPW Provincial Title Match - Kevy Chevy vs. ''Wild Child'' Jerin Rose - A collar elbow tie-up and Jerin backs Kevy to the corner. Chevy slaps Rose and backs him to the corner where Rose decks a shot and delivers a dropkick followed by a spinning heel kick. Chevy kicks the Wild Child from behind and delivers a double ax handle. Jerin tries to fight back but Kevy jumps him and puts the champ in a headlock. Jerin comes back with a sunset flip for a 2. As Kevy went up top, Jerin puts the boot up. Jerin delivers repeated rights and a spear but only got a 2. As Jerin set Chevy up for his Rose Cutter/RKO, Chevy turned it around into a Death Valley Driver but only got a 2. Again Jerin tried his Rose Cutter but again it was blocked. Finally, a third attempt was a charm for the win. Winner and still SPW Provincial Champion, Jerin Rose.

Match #7 - Samuel vs. Cory Diamond - Cory begins the match with an armdrag on Samuel followed by a second armdrag. Samuel takes Diamond down with a clothesline and a shoulderblock. Samuel goes right after Cory and suplexes him for good measure. Next, Samuel delivers shots to the back as well as a chop. Cory fights back but Samuel stops him. Samuel delivers a legdrop but Cory recovers with a spinning heel kick as well as 2 clotheslines followed by a bodyslam. Cory goes up top but misses as he hits Samuel's mask. Samuel delivers a bearhug slam for a 2. Samuel delivers an elbow but misses. Cory delivers a shot but gets a 2 count with an X-Factor. Samuel goes up top but Diamond stops him and takes the win with a superplex.

Match #8 - Spanky vs ''TLC'' Tommy Lee Curtis - Both men begin the match with a popularity contest. (borrrinnngg) Next, Spanky attacks Curtis but TLC recovers with a headlock til Spanky comes back with a headscissors, TLC delivers a superkick as well as a dropkick. Next, Spanky calls a timeout. When he does, he gets backed by TLC and gets his head rammed into the ring mat. Tommy delivers a legdrop on the head but Spanky recovers with a kick to the head as well as a chinlock followed by a combination of a pull of the hair, a legdrop and a splash, but when he went up top for a moonsault, Tommy turned it into a powerbomb. Both men trade punches with TLC getting the upperhand as well as a dropkick but Spanky managed to deliver the Big Spank for the win.

Main Event - Marius vs. La Sombra - Before the match, Marius claims that Ike Idol hired him to take care of La Sombra for a large sum of money. Sombra takes Marius over with an armdrag, Marius takes Sombra over with a reverse headlock but Sombra manages to deliver a flying elbow and several shots to the back followed by a chop and a hurricanranna as well as a monkey flip. Marius stops him with the boot. On the outside, Marius rams La Sombra into the ringpost back first and then head first. Back inside the ring, Marius rakes the eyes and delivers a fisherman's suplex for a 2. Sombra takes Marius over with a sunset flip but only gets a 2. Next, Marius gets rammed into referee Matt Burns. Marius tries to use a piece of plywood but Sombra delivers a roundhouse kick into the plywood and also uses a chair to Marius. Next Sombra goes outside and gets more plywood but Marius rams him into it twice but the plywood doesn't break. A spear attempt still doesn't break the plywood as Sombra kicks out at 2. Sombra fights back with a spinkick and a tornado DDT followed by a diving headbutt for the win.
